Subject Line: Not a promotion
Preview Line: But an ever important message

There’s a high likelihood that your inbox is currently being swamped by promotional emails, with discounts ranging from the 20%s all the way up to the 75%s, each of them specifically designed to make you click before you are even consciously aware of it. Maybe you are walking your habitual route through the city arcades, only to be drawn by the irresistible pull of billboards blinking ceaselessly in the brightest reds or yellows. The stakes only seem to be rising with every year passing — a screaming contest between corporations, each of them trying to make ends meet as the year meets another end.

There’s a likelihood you will have never read this far. Because who wants to deal with an uncomfortable truth? We don’t blame anyone. The environmental circumstances are as alarming as ever, but equally so is it easier than ever to omit responsibility. The joy in endless glamor, possibilities and dreams is what Fashion is predicated upon. It’s easier than ever to escape, be dragged into it, pretend your choices don’t matter, and turn a blind eye to the damage it causes to humanity and nature.

There’s a likelihood that you’ll disregard this message as our habitual doomsaying. But if we don’t raise our voice, who will? You may brush it aside as another desperate attempt to provoke, or as means to put ourselves in a good light. Be that as it may, but the truth still stands: the planet is reaching its limits. And only can the trajectory be turned around with drastic measures.

ASKET exists with the sole mission to make a positive impact on the industry and fundamentally change how fashion operates. But only can this be done with uncompromising authenticity and openness.

So we are doing it again: we are closing our doors for a day. But we are doing it for one particular reason: to open the doors for change, and spark the dialogue necessary to re-imagine the fashion industry.
